About the Workplace

The catering operations are part of the service administration in Ale Municipality.

The service administration is tasked with providing quality service to Ale Municipality's core operations in a professional and resource-efficient manner. The goal of the catering operations is to prepare and serve well-composed, nutritious, environmentally friendly, economical, and safe meals.

In the catering operations, we see meals as an important part of the day. Through our work, we ensure that the municipality's special accommodations, schools, and preschools enjoy good and nutritious food. In Ale, we work with ecological, economic, and social sustainability. The catering operations consist of about 90 employees and approximately 40 kitchens.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a service-oriented meal assistant for the catering operations. The job involves preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks to children and students. Dishwashing, cleaning, following self-control programs, food hygiene routines, documentation, ordering, special dietary management, and more are also part of the daily work. We work according to the recommendations of the Swedish Food Agency.

As a substitute meal assistant, your main task will be to cover for regular employees during their absence. Good teamwork skills, flexibility, and a service-oriented approach are important qualities. The kitchens are located from Alvhem in the north to Surte in the south.

Qualifications

Do you have good teamwork skills, are you service-oriented, flexible, and passionate about good, well-composed, nutritious, safe, and sustainable meals prepared and served with pride, care, and joy? Then you are the one we are looking for!

You have training focused on meal assistance or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working in preschool kitchens or school kitchens and enjoy having children and young people as guests.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in food, who is self-sufficient and structured. You should have good knowledge of special diets and be able to manage daily cleaning and self-control well.

It is required that you have basic computer skills and have a good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.

Since the job involves contact with children, you must be able to present an extract from the police criminal record when offered employment.
